Opportunities Available — Dentists

Dental Assistant - Watsonville / Full-time / Part-time

Established privately owned dental practice focused on providing the community with general dentistry for adults and children. Our practice is a full-service provider of comprehensive hygiene and dental care located in Watsonville. We are looking for a full-time dental assistant or part time dental assistant. Practice business hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00AM - 4:00PM. Dental Assistant Responsibilities: - Providing great patient care. - Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs. - Setting up instrument trays, preparing materials and operatories for dental procedures. - Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and cleaning up of operatories. - Taking diagnostically acceptable digital radiographs (including panoramic x-rays). - Present patients with proposed treatment plans and information on dental hygiene, oral health care. - Ability to chair side assist dentists with all phases of general dentistry. - Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary. - Assisting dental hygienists with procedures when necessary. - Recording treatment information in patient records. - Providing postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist. - Forming preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts. - Fabricating temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions. - Maintain paperless patient electronic dental records and scheduling next appointment. - Follow practice protocols for quality assurance, charting, biohazards, infection control and referrals. - Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory. Requirements: - Must be Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant. - Current BLS/CPR Certification and X-ray license. - Able to use an x-ray machine with digital sensors. - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. - Excellent customer service, and conflict resolution skills. - Must work well with others and be excellent at educating patients. - Comfortable using computers for a variety of tasks. Compensation based on experience.
